Georgian creamware tankard
Georgian creamware tankard
£195.00
A fine example of a late eighteenth century creamware tankard. The piece is of a small size and simple both in design and decoration. The body is of straight cylinder form with a reeded handle. The enamel colour decoration is of floral sprays and sprigs painted quickly and confidently in a manner not dissimilar to decoration on delftwares. The piece was probably made in Yorkshire and dates to C.1780. The condition is excellent with the only fault being a very slight rim chip.
Overall sizes in inches:
4 ½ wide
3 deep
4 ¾ high
