A fine Staffordshire pottery figure of Garibaldi
£295.00
A fine example of a Staffordshire pottery figure representing Giuseppe Garibaldi. The figure is standing by his horse, his hand resting on its mane and the other hand on his sword. The work is titled to the base in hand painted letters. The pose is taken from an illustration featured in the Illustrated London News in 1861. The figure is in excellent condition with just some minor wear to the overpainted decoration. This is an excellent, large and decorative example of a Staffordshire figure. C.1860.
