Product Description

A fine quality early Victorian mahogany commode chest. The chest has the most beautifully figured flame Cuban mahogany and the whole has a good colour and original patina. The front is completely false and lifts to reveal the commode interior. The interior has been fitted and lined for various uses and would make an excellent drinks cabinet, as well as still being used as a bedside table as it would have been. The chest is in great condition and a lovely piece of period cabinetwork, with a great colour and patina. C.1840
