Plaster figure group after Clodion
Make an enquiry about this item
A fine and decorative plaster group after the great French Rococo artist Clodion. The group shows a satyr amorously embracing a nymph, as she looks down to the putti at her feet begging for her attention. This will undoubtedly be a direct copy of an original work housed in a great collection and was probably made for art students to study. The plaster is in very good condition and retains the original painted finish. There is the odd chip but no great damage. The whole has a wonderful look and makes a big decorative impact. C.1900.
