Product Description
A really top quality pair of Victorian silver plated entree dishes. The pair are of a good heavy manufacture with exceptionally well cast handles. The decoration is limited to a beaded edge, mirrored in the handle. There is some fine engraving and a wonderful coat of arms and motto reading ‘CERVUS NON SERVUS’ this is for the Goddard family of Wiltshire. Both are in exceptionally good original condition. They are the model where the handle can easily be removed to use the lid for serving too, and a sign of the quality is that the underside edge of the lids are also beaded for this reason. A great pair of country house antiques, c.1890.
Overall sizes in inches: 11 1/2 by 9 and 5 1/2 high
