Product Description
A large and impressive oil painting of a collie dog by Madeline Graham Barker. The painting shows a black and tan collie very charmingly posed 695looking up as if at his master. The painting has been professionally lined at some point and most likely slightly reduced in size. The silvered frame is the original and has been resized at the same time as the painting. The frame is fantastic quality and has a great original finish. The work retains the original exhibition label on the reverse where the title is given as ‘Miss Ray Perry’ most likely the owner of the dog. The painting is in excellent condition and ready to hang.
Madeline Graham Barker was born in 1886 and studied at the Royal Academy Schools between 1909 and 1914, she did exhibit between 1918 and 1931.
A fine and large work that has enormous decorative impact. C.1920.
Overall sizes in inches including frame: 31 1/4 by 41 1/2
