Product Description

Unusual and decorative Victorian watercolour depicting a Scottish Gillie. The work is a quick study, almost caricature of this gentleman who is carrying a days bag. The work is not signed but does retain an inscription on the reverse which does date it to 1842. The watercolour is in good condition with some minor foxing marks. The fine quality birds eye maple frame is the original and in great untouched condition. The whole is an interesting subject with a great decorative appeal.
Overall sizes in inches including frame: 17 1/4 by 19 3/4
