Product Description
A charming and decorative oil on canvas depicting Carbis bay in Cornwall by John William Herbert Turner. The bay is viewed looking down with a pine tree framing the harbour. The work is detailed with a lovely hazy finish and an excellent use of colour. The painting is signed to the lower left and dated New Year 1920. John William Herbert Turner is a little known Cornish painter who lived in St Ives and Carbis bay, he was a landscape and coastal painter who exhibited at the London Salon and the New English Art Club between 1898 and 1908. The painting has had a professional clean and some minor repairs. It is mounted in the original very good quality gilt frame which is in excellent untouched condition. The whole has a great look and is ready to hang.
