A very interesting oil on canvas of a train. The work beautifully depicts the locomotive under full steam and I particularly like the technique of the carriages fading into the steam, giving a real impression of speed. The piece does have some light scratches on the canvas but otherwise is in good untouched antique condition. The painting is signed to the lower right however the signature is somewhat illegible. The date can be read as 1897. The painting is framed in a vintage frame in tones of black, silver and gold, this compliments the work very well and gives the whole a bit of a steampunk feel. An unusual oil painting with a great decorative look and is ready to hang.
