An interesting still life oil on wooden panel. The work depicts from an oblique angle a table spread with a white tablecloth. On the table are scattered peaches, a glass of water and plate onto which is laid a knife. The work is beautifully observed with a great feel for texture and light. The painting is signed to the lower right but I have been unable to identify the artist. The work is in good condition with some old touching in to the background. The frame is later in date than the painting but will have been with it for some time. The whole is an interesting painting with a great modernist look. C.1920.
